Pour la première fois depuis plus d’un siècle un objet en marbre ,dit « Noir de Solesmes » ou » Noir de sablé » , vient d’être réalisé par Pierre D’Angle. Il s’agit d’un bénitier en forme de coquille St Jacques comme on en trouvait régulièrement dans les églises au XVII s.
Une œuvre exceptionnelle et unique puisque aujourd’hui les anciennes carrières de Port Etroit ou de Juigné sont fermées depuis la fin du XIX s.
AU XIX s le marbre de Solesmes 
était très utilisé pour la fabrique de retables , de bénitiers ou encore pour le dallage des églises du pays Angevin . Il était aussi exporté dans d’autres régions de France.
